Returning home to Screenscape Studios and tackling video

November 19th, 2008 · 1 Comment

I recently changed jobs and have taken a position back at Screenscape Studios in West Des Moines where I was employed for 4 years previous to my remote job with Tea Lab in LA. Since returning back to Screenscape Studios, I’ve been thrown into the video realm and have been working a lot with After Effects. I’m extremely excited to be back at Screenscape and loving working with video. Here are a few commercial spots I’ve been involved with the last couple of weeks:

I was pleasantly surprised that my archived portfolio site is still getting some exposure even after it’s retirement. I received a package the other day and found a copy of Guidelines for Online Success in the box. If you jump to page 128 you’ll see my nice little one page spread.

I also just received word from Logo Lounge that 3 of my logos would be published in the upcoming Logo Lounge 5 book. The three featured logos are: Nike Elite League 1Nike Elite League 2 and Metromix.

New Sites Launched

May 13th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Quick update on a few new sites that launched in the last couple of months. I just recently launched a 27 Dresses site and game for Tea Lab for their client Fox. I also recently did an identity and website for a good friend of mine, Sudheer. He’s got a pretty neat tool to help create streaming flash video with custom voice overs to boot. He’s coined this product AVA. Sudheer programmed the back-end admin for my current site. If you’re in need of a skilled programmer give him a buzz!

Thanks for the support!

I’ve been getting a lot of activity on my site since the redesign. Largely in-part is due to the community that has been built around CSS-based designs. I’d like to thank Nick La of Best Web Gallery for the hook-up! Nick does fantastic work, you should check him out at N.Design Studio, he also runs Web Designer Wall. I’d also like to thank the guys and gals at webcreme.comcssmania.comcssartillery.com as well as cssbased.com for the postings on their sites. They’re all fantastic resources for cutting edge design and css.

Lions for Lambs Site Launched

March 5th, 2008 · No Comments

Just finished wrapping up a site for Fox with TeaLab. Lions for Lambs has a great cast and deals with a very topical subject, terrorism. Stars Robert Redford, Tom Cruise and Meryl Streep. I had fun with the site, I’m particularly fond of the opening. You can see the site here: http://www.lionsforlambs-dvd.com/

Version 6 Launches

February 29th, 2008 · 7 Comments

Well it’s been a while since I redesigned my site. I’ve been extremely busy with work at TeaLab. Special thanks goes out to my good friend Sudheer for helping me set up WordPress and for programming a back-end admin for my portfolio. Version 6 of my site was an exploration in table-less layouts with xhtml and css. I’m a changed man when it comes to html development. It’s been an eye-opening experience. The third time’s a charm!

Noe BoyWell the wait is over. I could barely sleep last night knowing that we had an ultrasound this morning. We were pleased to find out that after having 3 beautiful girls, Taylor (6) and twins Paityn and Paige (3), we were blessed with a baby boy. He’s 18 weeks along and due in late July. What a perfect way to round out our family! Now all of those boys names I’ve been saving for the last 6 years will come in handy.

Baby #4 on the way!

February 14th, 2008 · No Comments

Ultrasound 08Well it’s not necessarily “new” news, but we’re expecting our 4th little addition in late July. After having 3 beautiful healthy girls, we’re crossing our fingers that we might be blessed with a boy this time around. We have our second ultrasound on the 26th of this month. I’m counting down the days until we find out. Of course we just hope for a healthy baby with no complications, but it wouldn’t hurt to have a little man around the house to help even out the numbers.

Map a Run

February 13th, 2008 · No Comments

This is a fantastic tool if you’re into running. It uses google maps to calculate distances for pre-planned runs. It’s going to start getting warmer in the upcoming months. About time to start mapping out new runs myself.
